This image actually depicts a route inside a slot canyon in the famous Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah. The apptly named Peek-A-Boo canyon is a fun place to scramble around in the dimly lit narrows of Navajo sandstone. Colours change frequently by the angle of the sun and vary from shades of orange and brown to purple. This tantalizing landscape has been formed in thousands of years and is a truely impressive testament to the constant interaction of wind, rain and sandstone.
